Teams: Preparing Your Team for ITSC 2009
Purpose of Integration Teams
ITSC was designed as a collaborative conference to provide time for networking, goal setting and effective planinng for the integration of technology into the classroom. Over the years, teams for districts, and schools have met as teams to work on EdTech Grant plans, CDIPs/Tech Plans, and how learning from ITSC is going to be applied back in the job/classroom. We provide time during the conference to meet with your team. Some suggested team goals are provided below. |

During ITSC
Meet together as a team. This can be informal or a more structured meeting. Allow the team time to get to know each other and their views on:
- Technology
- How technology is used in job/classroom
- How technology could be used in job/classroom
- Download the handout to help with Group Process, and Guiding Questions
- How are we preparing students for the 21st Century?
- How are we integrating and measuring the NETS for Students?
- What are effective strategies that promote high levels of student responsibility and engagement, when computers, Internet access, and other technologies are integrated into teaching and learning?
- What organizational and systemic changes must occur to support the effective and integrated use of technology in education?
- How can technology be integrated into discipline-specific, content-area curriculum to foster higher-level outcomes measurable by standards?
Discuss goals and objectives for the conference.
- What do you want to accomplish as a team at this conference?
- Are you trying to develop or rewrite a technology or school improvement plan?
- Is your focus on developing curriculum that meets state standards or that effectively integrates technology?
- List specific questions you want to address with ITSC facilitators or other participants.
- What are your expectations for the conference?
- Establish team goals.
What to bring. Collect any materials from your school or district that may be helpful during the conference. Such as:
- Technology plans
- School improvement plans
- Curriculum or lesson plans, and organizational charts
- Grants, received or applying for
This is your opportunity to discuss goals and objectives for the conference. Teams from previous years have written their tech plans, worked on the roll out and details of EdTech grant funding, and synthsized learning from ITSC and its implementation back in the classroom/job.
