Administration
Dr. Alec Couros is an Associate Professor of educational technology and media at the Faculty of Education, University of Regina. He has given hundreds of workshops and presentations, nationally and internationally, on topics such as openness in education, networked learning, social media in education, digital citizenship, and critical media literacy.
Scott Friedman is the Principal of Nine Mile Falls Elementary School in Washington. He has led professional development initiatives that involve the use of technology to enhance the professional learning of teachers and administrators.
Mark has a background in both education and technology as a school technology contact, teacher, principal and now senior leader in the district office. Mark currently works as the Director of Technology Integration in Wolf Creek Public Schools.
Tim Wilson has been Chief Technology Officer for ISD 279 – Osseo Area Schools since 2008. Before becoming one of the first CTOs in Minnesota, Tim was Director of Technology for Buffalo-Hanover-Montrose Schools, Technology Integration Specialist for the Hopkins School District, and a physics and chemistry teacher at Henry Sibley High School in Mendota Heights, MN. A lifelong technology enthusiast, Tim began his technology career while teaching high school when he organized a group of students and colleagues to build the first network in the science department.
Pam Moran is the Superintendent of the Albemarle County Public Schools in Virginia and has worked in every level of K-12 education. She has led curricular and professional development, and now supports a 13,000 student school division covering 726 square miles.
English
A lifelong teacher, Eric taught middle school and high school humanities before teaching college. His research focuses on perceptions of education and students through media (television, film, the Internet, news).
Catlin Tucker teaches English at Sonoma County's Windsor High School and online writing courses through Axia College. Named Teacher of the Year at Windsor High School in 2010, she complements her in-class instruction with an online learning platform- Collaborize Classroom- in a unique blended instruction model.
Bud Hunt is an instructional technologist for the St. Vrain Valley School District in northern Colorado. He is a teacher-consultant with the Colorado State University Writing Project, an affiliate of the National Writing Project, a group working to improve the teaching of writing in schools via regular and meaningful professional development.
Math
Dan Meyer taught high school math for six years. He is currently a doctoral candidate at Stanford in the field of math education. He speaks internationally and works with publishers to help them figure out what their textbooks will look like when they leave paper behind. He was named one of Tech & Learning's 30 Leaders of the Future.
Science
I am a biology teacher at Canby High School and a self-proclaimed technophile. I began experimenting with iOS devices (iPod Touch) in my classroom in 2008 with the goal of increasing biology content knowledge for low-achieving students.
Social Studies
Diana Laufenberg has taught all grade levels from 7-12 in Social Studies. She currently teaches at the Science Leadership Academy in Philadelphia, an inquiry-driven, project-based high school focused on modern learning. Her practice has deep roots in experiential education, taking students from the classroom to the real world and back again.
Hall Davidson began teaching in 1971. He taught middle and high school English, mathematics, Spanish, and bilingual mathematics, as well as college courses on technology for teacher credential candidates. He left the classroom to teach math on television, winning an Emmy award and spending 20 years at Los Angeles area PBS stations teaching, leading staff development, and championing content creation by students and teachers.
S. Craig Watkins studies young people's social, mobile, and digital media behaviors. He teaches at the University of Texas, Austin, in the departments of Radio-Television-Film, Sociology, and the Center for African and African American Studies. Craig is also a Faculty Fellow for the Division of Diversity and Community Engagement and a Global Fellow for the IC2 at the University of Texas at Austin.
Media Specialists
Silvia Rosenthal Tolisano was born in Germany, raised in Argentina and currently lives in the United States. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish with a Minor in International Studies and a Masters in Education with an emphasis in Instructional Technology. She has worked as a World Language teacher, Technology Integration Facilitator and 21st Century Learning Specialist.
Diane Main teaches grades one through eight technology at Milpitas Christian School in San Jose, California. She is a Google Certified Teacher and a Google Apps for Education Certified Trainer.
Online Education

Ira, a graduate student and researcher in the College of Education at Michigan State University, and a technology developer and teacher trainer with Michigan's Integrated Technology Supports, has worked in law enforcement, architecture, art and design before becoming a leader in technological services to those with special needs, working in universities, K-12 schools, businesses, and vocational rehabilitation services.
