Eric Anctil

Eric Anctil, a professor of education at the University of Portland is the author of Selling Higher Education: Marketing and Advertising America’s Colleges and Universities.  A lifelong teacher, Eric taught middle school and high school humanities before teaching college.  His research focuses on perceptions of education and students through media (television, film, the Internet, news).  He has written on the role big-time college sports plays within higher education and the impact of social networking on college student identity.  His newest interest is studying the implications of mobile technology on student learning in K-20 education.
