EARN PORTLAND STATE CREDIT AT ITSC
Participants will be able to receive college credit through Portland State University for work at ITSC for $50 a credit. We will be offering it for one and two credits. Those interested should register and pay by check or credit card at the PSU Booth in the Gardens Lobby on Sunday or Monday. On Tuesday visit the Mt. Hood Lobby registration desk before noon.
For one credit, participants need to be involved in ten hours of the conference. For two credits, they will need to be involved in the whole conference and post the notes and plan of their team-work sessions on the ITSC Moodle.
The Instructional Technology Strategies Conference (ITSC) offers you a chance to think, explore, and develop strategies to enhance student achievement through the effective use of technology.
Methods of instruction include:
- Team discussion, group work, interactive-lecture, and mostly "brains-on" interaction and problem solving
- Utilization of online tools such as website, blog and moodle
- Hands-on laptop
- Vendor/exhibitor resources
- Face to face conversations with facilitators
- Online virtual environment
One-Credit Requirements Participate in:
- The entire conference (Sunday through Tuesday) [90 points]
- Workshops I and II
- Three one-hour sessions
- The opening keynote
- The closing keynote
- The Integration Team sessions
Two-Credit Requirements Participate in:
- The entire conference (Sunday through Tuesday) [90 points]
- Workshops I and II
- Three one-hour sessions
- The opening keynote
- The closing keynote
- The Integration Team sessions
- Online course http://moodle.oetc.org/ where you will be asked to complete the following:
- Moodle. Activity in the Moodle to include a posting, editing your profile, and a wiki. [100 points]
- Application Project. Your project should demonstrate how you will incorporate a technology tool or strategy you learned at ITSC (such as a photography, video integration, internet safety, Moodle, Google, etc) into your classroom (or job). The project should be showcased in an innovative way (such as a movie, web 2.0, blog, podcast, etc.) and be posted to the moodle by March 9, 2008. It will be scored using the ITSC Course Rubric in the moodle and will include:
- Future technology integration goal(s) and applications. Consider access and adaptation for diverse students in the effectiveness of technology integration. [30 points]
- The process designed to accomplish the goal(s). [30 points]
- The tool you will use to measure your progress toward the goal(s). [30 points]
